This discovery by Rolleikin gives us a wealth of clues about faked news stories from 1968 onwards.
You’d think the producers would have retired this guy but instead they put him on TV and bring him out constantly. I guess they think he’s got the part down pat. See his interview with Tucker Carlson about the Las Vegas shooting. Here he might not technically lie, because all he does is describe medical examiner procedures, but he succeeds in directing viewers (and video watchers, judging by comments) to think “conspiracy” rather than “fake”.

Baden’s career got started in the NYC medical examiner’s office in the late ’60s. Early on he was evidently assigned as a media contact and rose up the ranks with the usual suspicious speed. He became chief medical examiner for New York effin’ City, only about ten years into his career. His schtick is often doing a second autopsy and thereby creating or fueling a (presumably fake, distraction) controsvery. “Homicide not suicide” was his angle in the case of Epstein, Las Vegas shooter, and others.

Baden said “Some were wearing watches. All stopped at exactly seven minutes after four or seven minutes after three, depending on whether they had moved them forward for New York time.” Really.
Baden also did Sid Vicious, supposed death from drugs in Greewich Village in February 1979.
On TV he typically wears a purple tie.
Baden clearly had a close relationship with Nelson (Levingston we presume) Rockefeller who was governor of New York. Rockefeller and Baden both played roles in the story of the Attica prison revolt in 1971. Baden came in and said some of the guards had been killed by bullets, implying they were killed by friendly fire by the soldiers putting down the riot.
Later Baden was part of the news story about Rocky’s death. Yet again we see the pattern of an official version and a salacious alternate version, probably neither of which is true. In this case Rockefeller was said to have died of a heart attack at his office at age 70; later it “leaked” that he was actually banging his secretary. This is just a couple years after he was vice president.
Baden apparently lent some credence to the secretary-banging theory and this was cited as a reason he was fired as chief medical examiner—thereby further cementing his reputation as an anti-establishment truth teller.
