Here's a pretty good site that lists the number of people with a given surname globally and in each country.

391,000 people in the world are named Cohen (assuming it's accurate).
There are almost 4.5 million Smith's. I'm surprised it's only the 130th most common name.
30.8 million are named Ali, the 13th most common name.
I wonder what's the most common name. I just tried Li. It's 2nd. Lu is 19th.
