This drawing ... link... is used to illustrate this Britanica article ... link... on space junk which says there are over 14,000 such things in orbit around the planet. So, why are they never visible in any photo that supposedly shows the Earth taken from space? I would think we could see something once in a while but I've never seen a single bit in any photo from the ISS or weather satellite or any other space-based camera-equipped platform. Is the space junk really there?

Probably for the same reason you can't see the dozens of flying insects in every photo taken outside, or the dust particles floating around your head in your selfies. I also don't think our governments who merrily pollute the oceans and the soil would have any qualms about dumping their trash in our orbit as well.
I don't know about the veracity of space photos in general, but at least this aspect makes sense.

"Probably for the same reason you can't see the dozens of flying insects in every photo taken outside" =========================================================================== But sometimes you can see those things. Why can't we sometimes see the space junk? Satellites are supposedly visible from the ground. Why not space junk?

So, you just believe anything anybody says? The above is no different from anything on Space.com or NASA.gov or any other mainstream "space program" site. It proves nothing.
I know what the mainstream says. I'm talking about what is true, not what is taught in school. Don't you ever think for yourself?

You haven't proven that there are no satellites or junk in space. I didn't say there were no satellites or junk in space. What do you think YOU have proven?

I have proven that it's very plausible that there is abundant space junk in orbit.

I have proven that it's very plausible that there is abundant space junk in orbit. Linking to something somebody said isn't proof of anything. I can find lots of references that say Osama Ben Laden had airplanes crash into the WTC towers or that Lee Harvey Oswald shot JFK and a thousand other fake "facts."
Honestly, I don't know what you're doing on a forum like this if you accept as true everything you read from the mainstream. We try to dig deeper than that and get at what is really true. Or, are you just trolling here?

OK, so they tell us Artemis returned from the moon and splashed down today. This is our chance to see some great images of Earth from space, right? After all, it came all the way from the moon so we should get some great shots of all that space junk and satellites and such. And, here is a sample image: Isn't that great image quality, folks? That's what billions of dollars buys. State of the art photography. That frame came from this video of the return and splashdown: Earth views start at about the 30 minute mark.Doesn't it seem just a little odd that they would have such terrible photos when the "space craft" neared Earth?

Notice how RKIN exaggerates "Honestly, I don't know what you're doing on a forum like this if you accept as true everything you read from the mainstream. We try to dig deeper than that and get at what is really true. Or, are you just trolling here?" Where is evidence LOL accepts as true everything he read in the mainstream? I don't see it, can somebody point it out? RKIN is talking about space junk, which by the way is often zipping along quite fast I am told, as fast as satellites which are over 100 miles an hour relative to earth and relative to each other since they take different orbits around the earth. He wonders why nobody can photograph it Because its small and moving fast, getting close to it even with an automated camera is going to be a risk and as far as I know nobody is going to fund such a high speed camera setup just to satisfy the RKIN's of the world. The data he wants is extemely difficult to get. Notice that skeptics that take thier skepticism into areas where data is hard to get have the comfort of knowing little data is available and only major institutions and funders can even approach the task. Just like spy satellites, they are not there to "advertise" every little detail to convince a skeptic, they probably have some other mission to accomplish even if its only providing enough fake data to convince the mainstream. The mainstream says that radar is used but such tech only works on larger chunks and even an object the size of a sand grain is problematic. LOL actually claims to know someone who is NOT the mainstream, someone involved in the actual process, but noooo, with RKIN its just you're a troll and LOL "accepts as true EVERYTHING he reads in the mainstream." RKIN is mistaken, and yet he has no problem oozing out an ad hom on lol. Where is the evidence RKIN? Are you just going to call people turds? I'm sure Miles Mathis has been called a turd, Miles pantsload is pretty close, OH NOEZ!! How will Miles recover from such moronic attacks?? And to answer his last question, no its not odd that they have such terrible photos when the craft neared eath. The mission was not to get good photos of earth! If they really went all the way to the moon thats another few pounds of camera payload and battery to lug all the way there and back just to get footage as the craft sails into the atmosphere. Its a test mission, it makes no sense to finance a fancy camera when you are trying to test the craft itself and it might fail at any moment. I guess RKIN didn't dig deep enough.

Doorman, someone said you were just banned from CTTF. I heard that Josh was back there. Did he ban you? He banned me a year ago or so. I like what he writes, but he gets too paranoid sometimes. Jared was worse, I mean even more paranoid, but I don't see him there lately. When I found out Josh had a substack, I went to check it out last summer and found that it's a good place for writers, so I started some substacks of my own at substack.com/profile/98340589-len-kinder. A few years ago I talked to my cousin who retired from the Air Force about his former work tracking satellites and space junk. Anyway, I don't know why it's hard to believe that there is space junk orbiting Earth. There are satellites in orbit. Aren't there? And they can deteriorate over time and lose parts. Can't they? And even meteors can hit them and knock pieces off. Can't they? Also, I don't know why radar tracking of space junk isn't believable. And if anyone has different views from your own, you can be sure they're trolls or agents. Right? . Maybe we need a list of all of Miles' claims to determine that anyone who disagrees with any of them is a troll. . A = Agree; D = Disagree. . Nukes are fake. A Hindenburg disaster was fake. A Moon landings were fake. D Titanic sinking was fake. A Custer's last stand was fake. A Lincoln's assassination was fake. A JFK assassination was fake. A Subatomic particles are made of photons. A Covid vaxes are deadly. A Challenger shuttle disaster was fake. D Humans came from Titan. D . Looks like I fail. Before I was banned from CTTF, I warned folks there that it's not healthy to have a guru and that they were treating Miles like one. It's not healthy to pressure members of a group to not express their own views if they differ from most of the group's views.

Satellites collide with each other as well! Chances of that are probably slim but it seems early space endeavors were litterbugs. Lot of empty space up there, but a collision would be making some wild chunks. RKIN claims to be a "photo" guy, but he certainly isn't a "logic" guy it seems. Imagine you have picked a place in orbit to place your highspeed camera with its high speed strobe, and you are waiting with your whatever sensor to track incoming objects at dizzying speeds, you have one chance that orbit to get it in frame and lit enough to make a photo, but if you can't be precise it slams into your camera craft. Putting the craft where there was more debis would up your chances of getting a chance at a photo, but also up the risk to your craft. I think the solution would be to slam it into your craft and try and get a photo of its approach, should be possible for under 10 million, Rkin can write a check to help fundraise! We might get gov funding if we can capture enough debris, but I'm sure there are competing plans that don't have fancy cameras producing blurry images of random pieces of high velocity flotsam. Do we care if its a philips head or torx screw flying at us at Mach 1? Anyway, I remember you, AND the reason Josh offered for why he blocked you. Seemed unecessarily harsh. You were no threat to the forum that I could detect. At least you GOT a reason, announced on the forum, I'm still not sure what specifically was the issue with my participation. I don't have any behind the scenes info, and I don't rememember you discussing the guru issue. Its like I wrote on the forum, almost nobody gets the "rules" and "enforcement" right in my experience. In Josh's favor there is always going to be people who approve or disapprove of every move he makes. Clear guidelines can go a long way, his are less than clear. Suspensions are better than bans, but if he says I'm blocked I won't bother him until he changes his mind. When I got slammed by Jared's abuse and a general ad hominem culture there I asked Josh for advice and feedback and got silence. I took a long break and came back only because Miles was serving as moderator to Jared and Rolliekin's ad hom feud. I'm betting Josh is trying to avoid complaints about me in his inbox. Thanks to Tottie for his support! I should at least give honorable mention to Chris Ryksa for also not condemning me, and despite Rsack or is it Russel Sacket, who thinks he figured out something, NotaBaron and Michael disagreed with him in public. The latter two are correct I'm not paid to be here or have any intention to disrupt anything but lies and fallacies. Old timers just can't handle criticism perhaps, and they don't have the wherewithal to sanitize thier speech of obvious lies, character assasination, and ad hominem fallacies. If someone had even ONCE acknowledged that such behaviors were unfortunatley going on, I would have been more likely to forgive and move on. But there is no uniting and supporting each other under the work of Miles in these conditions. A little argumentation or debate or even HEAVEN FORBID conflict from me is hardly an issue when Jared and Rolliekin are permitted to have a mud slinging fest for as long as they did. People are now free to make thier turd jokes in peace again

Earthrise, taken on December 24, 1968, by Apollo 8 astronaut William Anders Taking above "Earthrise" photo into Photoshop and simply raising the levels (just make it brighter, nothing more) we get:
And here is a closer look at the Earth in the photo:
Hmmm ... what's all that stuff around the edges of the Earth?
