So far nothing was censored, the warning was due to members alerting someone was a bot.
The bot (stillsmoking) has been banned.

If you use a VPN, get used to this site blocking quite a few of the servers.

3rd doorman is raising a big stink over at CTTF forum about this forum. Much ado about nothing. Such drama!

If Miles could add a forum to his own website that he could moderate himself, that would be ideal rather than these public type boards I agree. I'm not married to proboards any more than I was to wordpress.

I'm not married to proboards any more than I was to wordpress. Right, that or do the hosting all custom - free-speech friendly DNS registrar and hosting service like Epik and something like this forum except privately hosted would be ideal. My guess is unless there is illegal activity like violent threats or child porn and pirated software, no one will care that we're questioning contemporary quantum physics or doubting nuclear weapons. I think this is fine for now. It's definitely easier than WP comments for interactive discussion. I can actually post more than a couple sentences without worrying about whether it will format correctly or get stuck in moderation, and it's easy to quote others and see who's responding to what. Also nice is editing already-posted messages. It would be nice to feed this into an RSS reader so I know when there's new posts... oh wait, I can. Feed "http://milesmathis.freeforums.net" into an RSS reader - I'm using NetNewsWire. Just can't see the post content.

Yeah this is definitely an improvement, as I tried to point out to someone still dancing the Imageshack Shuffle over at CttF.
They allow Miles' papers to stay hosted at his website, so I don't see forums raising their alert level any higher.

It's an improvement for me for sure, since I was banned over at CTTF. And it wasn't for any good reason. Just a couple guys' wild paranoia.

Draw your own conclusions about "3rd doorman" --mine are not favorable.

For fun maybe people want to propose what ranks we use or maybe no one cares, this is the default setup:
1 star > new member 2 star > Junior Member 3 star > Full Member 4 star > Senior Member 5 star > God

How does one get stars? (and thereby ascend to Godhood?) Simply by quantity of posts?
Meanwhile, may I suggest the addition of a discussion area for Culture, i.e., Music, Art, Literature ... perhaps Language ... ?

I thought about music, but as you say it could be also an art category asm music falls under art. What about: 'The Arts, Books and Language' So an amalgamation of topics, i think otherwise the board would get too wide. Regards, Daniel

RE:Music Other forums have 'What are you listening to now?', how about that and 'reading'?
