1. Bot till proven otherwise 2. Might not be a bot, but we still don’t trust him or her 3. Really good at convincing us he’s not a bot 4. Probably ok 5. Person with way too much time on his hands
I’m being facetious of course. A little bit.

How does one get stars? (and thereby ascend to Godhood?) Simply by quantity of posts? Meanwhile, may I suggest the addition of a discussion area for Culture, i.e., Music, Art, Literature ... perhaps Language ... ? There is now a 'Feed The Head' category. Regards, Daniel

Thanks for setting this up Daniel, CTTF is becoming a real pain in the ar$$, blocking posts for no rhyme or reason and, with no apparent moderation, allowing spooks and bots to spread discontent. Definitely worth giving this new place a chance.

Miles just posted this on CttF
So it's not the ideal forum, if only because Miles would never want to show up. But at least we have set this up now so we can discuss what else to do.

Well, if another forum is set up you might want to get Miles' approval BEFORE putting any work into it. That is if you want him to post in the forum.
But, we really don't need him to post in the forum since he already posts his papers on his website and he can post comments on Josh's CTTF forum.

rkin : As I said: But at least we have set this up now so we can discuss what else to do. (including people like Garlic Soup, Joey, etc. ...) I asked at CttF what people would think of webboard.org (that's where 'lol' has made his forum: he posted: Alternative Forum: milesmathis.freeforums.net/thread/29/activism ) So maybe somebody'll bother to answer there @ CttF I have no idea which fora / forums would be better then others, I tend to think like what 'lio' said earlier in this thread: And then about the phpBB: this must be installed on an already existing site, to be totally your own, I think? I don't have any independant site lying around, do any of you guys? I think it was Garlic Soup who said: Why not on Miles' site? But I can imagine he can't be bothered about that.

And my point was also: yes it does matter if Miles will endorse & attend some new Forum.
Why on earth else have we been fidgeting around on CttF for so long, which isn't even a forum but is a comment-section on Word-Press, where the most interesting discussions were almost always at the fourth RE:RE:RE:RE level, where a line was like ten characters wide....

There is also Discord, if anyone is interested in a more personal-feeling voice chat. I believe you can make private servers that are invite or moderator approval only for new members. Some have expressed concern over at CttF that these member-only platforms are bad, but I'm not sure how anyone is supposed to moderate without it. Others will say that moderation is a form of censorship itself and is bad, but we know we have bots and trolls trying to derail discussions, and even some regulars who tend to trail off on tangents.
I personally have no money for web hosting, so I cannot help with that or expect anyone else here to be in any better position to do it for us.

Gijs sounds like the voice of reason to me here. May I humbly suggest that Miles should be bothered to create the forum, as his direct influence will insure its credibility for years to come. As opposed to an alternate scenario in which freeforums or another individual loses interest and wanders off. Do we want a repeat of the scenario which just occurred, in which Josh has lost interest in the forum, and auto-moderation is producing a disaster? It's not the first time I've seen this same story unfold. At a time when open communication is desperately important and hard to secure. Miles is evidently familiar with setting up a website, and he already has webhosting, so setting up a message board costs nothing except an hour of his time. Then he can appoint Gijs, d-archer, or whoever he wants as administrators, and walk away whenever he wants. Download phpBB here: www.phpbb.com/downloads/phpBB is then uploaded to the chosen website and then runs its own installer, with a graphical interface, no sophisticated coding is necessary:

When I looked into it, phpBB didn't seem like a plug-and-play solution. It requires configuring a bunch of services it's dependent on, then there's periodic maintenance and dealing with security issues when they come up.
For what it's worth, Discord is also heavily monitored/censored, as I learned from a salty, old computer buff who ended up having to move non-PC topics to his private server.
But based on that comment on CttF, it looks like Miles has little interest in dealing directly with the forum issue, so expecting him to do something about it seems like a dead-end.

I wonder what they censor? Have you all noticed any as of yet? AFAIK nothing has been censored here.
Personally, I think it's silly to set up yet another forum and hope Miles approves of it. I think this forum should continue and, after Miles sees that it is safe to post here, he will hopefully give it a try. Nothing on the internet is 100% spook-free. Even if you found a non-censoring forum platform, the spooks will still find a way to mess with it one way or another.

Agreed. Unless he's willing to host one on his personal website, I'll continue to post here where it at least materializes.
